FPGA:
A couple of years ago (about 12?), I had some FPGA projects. I used an Altera SDK which has some bottoms and LEDs. But, the really cool thing was the VGA-port to connect a display. One of the first project was a classical Ping-Pong game. I also built a phase angle-controlled dimmer with 32bit. However, I found my good old SDK somwhere in a box:
